2006 US National Paragliding Championships
Up to 100 of the finest paragliding pilots in the country will meet in Sun Valley, Idaho, August 27 – September 2 to fly the skies high over the Sawtooth Mountains and compete for the title of US National Champion. This competition is officially sanctioned by the United States Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association as well as the FAI. The basic format is to complete a cross country course flying as quickly as possible to a finish line. These courses vary in length and design due to variable weather conditions each day. Pilots will utilize altimeters, variometers and GPS systems to help them navigate across the beautiful mountainous terrain of central Idaho. Courses of 10-100 miles are expected as participants reach heights up to 18,000 feet. All flights will originate from the summit of Bald Mountain, the top of the famous Sun Valley Resort.

In the fall of 2003, Chuck was part of a climbing/paragliding
expedition in Nepal sponsored by Marmot.
The purpose of this trip was to soar the skies around Mt. Everest,
launch off the summit of Kyajo Ri and share flight with the illustrious
Sherpa people of the region. The Web site, Over
Khumbu has images, video and details of this spectacular trip.
The film "Between
Earth & Sky" documenting this expedition, was released at
the Telluride Mountain Film Festival in May, 2004. It has been playing
at numerous film festivals since. Between Earth and Sky has become
an international favorite as an Official Selection in over a dozen
film festivals in five countries including the Maui Film Festival
and Jackson Hole Film Festival, winning Best Adventure Film at the
2005 Boulder Adventure Film Festival and Best Cultural Documentary
at the 2004 St. Hilaire Film Festival in St. Hilaire, France. Contact
